I like this one better too, the tighter focus pulls the eye to the people, where it should be.
The space between their mouths makes this shot IMO, it defines the people and lets the viewer anticipate what is going to happen.
If you don't mind I think I will steal this idea for a shot the next time I do a wedding, because I am terrible at weddings and need all the help I can get.
Personally, I like this better. It's more engaging of the main characters. Actually, I think this is fav worthy, it's more to the point and simplistic. It just gets the point across without distraction.
